KARACHI:
As winter descends on Pakistan, particularly impacting Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, several challenges emerge. One primary issue is the strain on resources, with families struggling to heat their homes adequately, resulting in discomfort and health issues. Lack of warm food and necessities, especially in isolated areas with heavy snowfall, adds to a sense of vulnerability. The harsh weather also threatens transportation and infrastructure, disrupting daily life and impeding the timely delivery of goods and services. This disproportionately affects marginalised communities, exacerbating existing economic disparities. Winter in Pakistan unveils challenges such as resource scarcity, infrastructure issues, and strained community ties, requiring attention and assistance. Despite its moments of beauty and resilience, the season highlights the need for comprehensive solutions.
