TURBAT:
Our education system is plagued by widespread corruption, which undermines its principles and perpetuates inequality. Bribery and favouritism in educational institutes enable wealthy individuals to buy their way into prestigious institutes depriving deserving students from less privileged backgrounds of equal opportunities. Nepotism adds to the issue by allowing individuals with personal connections to secure positions they are not qualified for diminishing the quality of education.
Cheating and plagiarism are prevalent due to poor monitoring during examinations and emphasis on higher grades. Financial mismanagement further exacerbates the problem as funds meant for educational resources are often misused or misallocated. Biases in curricula also perpetuate skewed narratives and hinder critical thinking. Addressing this problem requires transparent admissions processes, measures against academic dishonesty and promoting ethical conduct.
Effective oversight mechanisms and accountability structures are necessary to combat financial irregularities. It is crucial to emphasise integrity and meritocracy within educational institutions and revamp curricula to include diverse perspectives and ethical reasoning. Collaboration between various stakeholders in society is vital for driving systemic reforms and restoring the integrity of education.
