Manufacturing automobiles locally

Manufacturing automobiles locally

KARACHI:

The Pakistani government can boost automobile exports by exclusively procuring vehicles from local companies with the highest export volumes. All government vehicle acquisitions must come from these domestic companies rather than from those that neither manufacture within Pakistan nor contribute to exports. Such companies, which contribute minimally to the economy, should be phased out.

Local manufacturing stimulates economic growth by creating jobs in various sectors, including production, assembly and supply chain management. It can reduce reliance on exports and generate significant tax revenues for the government. Manufacturing automobiles locally can bring economic, social and technological benefits contributing to a nation’s overall development and competitiveness.
