KARACHI:
The recent controversy surrounding the final results of Municipal Officers (BPS-17) and subsequent legal petitions have hindered the functioning of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC). It is not surprising that every result released by the SPSC across various departments is met with skepticism, and often, discrepancies are discovered upon examination.
The sudden announcement of advertisement no. 09/2023 dated 07-11-2023 for the Combined Competitive Examination-2023 is a miscarriage of justice, especially since there was no advertisement for CCE-2022 the previous year. This renders countless candidates ineligible for this year’s CCE for exceeding the age limit. It is perplexing why such a prestigious institution seems indifferent to the aspirations of the youth in Sindh.
Ironically, this advertisement violates the judgment of the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan in Suo Moto Case No. 18/2016 dated 13.03.2017, which stipulates the regularisation of CCE on an annual basis from 2019 onwards. A humble request is extended to the Caretaker Chief Minister and the SPSC Chairman to consider granting a two-year age relaxation in the upper age limit in response to the cancelled CCE-2022 advertisement.
