KARACHI:
Dasht area of Turbat town in Balochistan terribly lacks facilities for basic needs, like transportation, healthcare, education, etc. The residents of Dasht expect the government to develop road network and public conveyance system; set up clinics and hospitals to ensure accessible and quality healthcare services; lay the foundation of schools, colleges and vocational training centres to promote education and skills development, empowering students for a better future; and ensure availability of clean water, electricity and sanitation services for improved living conditions and public health.
To address these needs and uplift Dasht, collaboration between the government and private sector is a must, besides full community participation. For the purpose, there is need for proper planning, allocation of resources and implementation of sustainable development initiatives.
