Lahore’s climate crisis

Letter July 10, 2023

PUNJAB:

The ongoing period of continuous rainfall in Lahore is a direct consequence of climate change, which has become a global crisis requiring the attention of stakeholders worldwide. Climate change and environmental protection should not be limited to the Department of Environment alone; it is the responsibility of the entire nation to stand up and safeguard the atmosphere at any cost.

Lahore attracts people from various parts of Punjab seeking better healthcare and educational facilities. Therefore, it becomes crucial for the residents of Lahore to actively protect the environment, culture and history of this vibrant city. Without immediate action and the implementation of necessary reforms, Pakistan will face numerous challenges in relation to climate change.
