Slow process

Slow process

KARACHI:

The premier institution responsible for holding competitive and provincial exams in Sindh is the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC). A few months ago, SPSC advertised vacancies for secondary school teachers (BPS -16). Many people applied for the position but have not heard back from the SPSC. It seems that the SPSC does not plan on holding induction tests any time soon given its dysfunctional state.

SPSC has long been marred with irregularities. The commission has been operating at a snail’s pace threatening the futures of hundreds of candidates. It has failed to assist candidates regarding their district concerns, and internet login details. While completing my SPSC online profile, I mistakenly chose the wrong district, which I cannot edit now. I have visited SPSC’s office several times to resolve the issue, but my efforts have been unsuccessful. The staff are rather unapproachable and not interested in addressing the grievances or issues of the candidates. Since then, I submitted another application with the correct district, but I have not received any response.

Many other candidates face similar issues on the online portal as it has glitches and bugs. This is exemplified by the long queue at the SPSC, but the officials remain negligent. I request the concerned authorities to urge SPSC to speed up its process and resolve candidates’ issues in a timely manner.
