RAWALPINDI:
For the past three months, water supply has become a major issue for the residents of Rawalpindi. The usage of water usually increases during the summer season causing water shortages. However, this time, the municipal board has failed to supply water to the areas of Dhoke Syedan Road, Misrial Road, and adjoining areas according to the usual schedule.
The residents are relying on water tankers to fulfil their needs. The tanker mafia is taking full advantage of this situation by creating artificial shortages and charging high rates. The people are already struggling to cope with the high inflation, and this is further adding to their problems. Many residents have lodged complaints with municipal administration, but their calls have fallen on deaf ears. The concerned authorities must take notice of the issue and resolve the problem urgently to provide some relief to the public.
