Incompetent teachers

Incompetent teachers

KARACHI:

The absence of qualified and experienced teachers in the Buleda Tehsil of Turbat has raised many challenges for students who are forced to prepare for board exams without any guidance or support. Most teachers do not have formal training and lack an understanding of the subjects they are teaching. Consequently, students perform poorly in exams because they lack proper knowledge about the curriculum and are unable to comprehend the exams.

Rampant corruption in government institutions has allowed officials to hire teaching faculty based on nepotism and favouritism. The teachers are recruited arbitrarily and not formally trained before they start teaching. The provincial government must pay attention to the issue and urge the education department to hire school administrators and teachers on merit. It must also get rid of all those involved in malpractices to improve transparency and accountability. The students should not suffer because of the negligence of a few.
