KARACHI, PAKISTAN:
Panjgur, which is located in the Makran division of Balochistan, has a sizeable population. Yet the town lacks several basic facilities including internet broadband services. The absence of a widespread internet connection has left residents disconnected from the rest of the country. The internet allows people to stay updated with both local and global affairs as well as connect with people from around the world.
It has become critical in many fields today including education and employment. Therefore, the people of Panjgur have urged local authorities to restore internet connection in the region, but their calls have fallen on deaf ears. The provincial government and local administration need to urgently investigate the issue and work with internet suppliers to ensure that Panjgur has stable WiFi and mobile data services.
