KARACHI:
In Pakistan, companies and individuals need to consider business reputation pivotal. I remember seeing a restaurant menu a few years ago, that had listed out different items i.e., fries, juices, and snakes. Clearly, the “snakes” here were supposed to be “shakes”. Businesses and vendors should ensure the correct usage of English and Urdu words. This is particularly important from a marketing perspective.
I have come across numerous spelling, grammatical, and typographical errors in the vision and mission statements of large organisations and companies on their websites or online advertisements. These mistakes cast a bad impression and can often turn customers away even if the product or service offered is great. In fact, it is worse if a renowned business or individual errs this way as it jeopardises the company’s credibility. At times, companies list incorrect numbers on their websites, which can result in them losing customers. Similarly, errors in information about the cost of products or services can create confusion and eventually harm the company’s profitability.
Most of the time, the public remembers these mistakes and can remind you long after you think they have forgotten. Therefore, companies and professionals should pay attention to details and avoid minor mistakes that can tarnish their business image. Nowadays, such mistakes can be easily rectified with the help of different online software and tools. Always remember, meticulousness depicts quality, class, and professionalism.
