Price hike

Price hike

KARACHI:

Ramadan is a month of spirituality, self-reflection, and community building for Muslims around the world. Unfortunately, in recent years, many Pakistani consumers have struggled with increasing prices during the holy month. Price hikes during Ramadan are not a new phenomenon, but the worsening economic circumstances have affected the purchasing power of many low-income households.

The rising prices of food and other commodities have left many families struggling to make ends meet during Ramadan. For many low-income households, price hikes mean choosing between buying groceries and paying for other necessities such as rent, utility bills, and medical expenses. It is a sad reality that is preventing many people from fully enjoying the spirit of Ramadan and practising their faith in peace.

The government and relevant authorities need to address this issue urgently. They need to control prices, encourage fair trade practices, and ensure that essential goods are affordable and accessible to all Pakistani families. Also, local communities need to collaborate, promote healthy and sustainable habits, and try to minimise waste this month. The government needs to control price hikes as it is not only affecting the people but also the country’s economy and social stability. All families should be able to enjoy the month in peace and comfort.
