Education in Kolwah

Education in Kolwah

KARACHI:

Education is a fundamental right of all citizens of Pakistan, but students in Kolwah town of Balochistan are deprived of this basic right. Over the years, the population of the town has consistently risen with a large number of students in the area. However, the provincial government has failed to facilitate the rising number of students and repair the existing schools.

Most students receive little to no education because the town does not have any functioning schools and families cannot afford to send their children to schools in other parts of the country. The poor education standards are worrisome because the region cannot achieve progress or development without a strong education system. The youth are either forced to work from a young age in odd jobs or have fallen into illegal or criminal activities. They do not develop any knowledge and skills and remain stuck in poverty and illiteracy.

The provincial government must revive education in the province by establishing primary and secondary schools. It must allocate sufficient resources to the schools and set up a commission to overlook educational affairs in Kolwah and across the province. The education system in Balochistan should be improved so that people can heave a sigh of relief.
