KARACHI:

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is a regulatory body responsible for monitoring and regulating public and private universities across the country. It also assists many master’s and PhD candidates in gaining scholarships and financial assistance at foreign universities.

Over the years, HEC has formed many partnerships with local and international public and private organisations as well as education institutes to enhance opportunities for Pakistani students. One initiative that has facilitated many students is the HEC library located in Islamabad. Although the library has access to many quality books, and journals, with the rise in the number of students, there is a need to expand the library premises to accommodate more students. In addition, the library should regularly update academic books and journals to ensure that students have access to the latest study materials and resources. The library should also have an area dedicated to group study or discussion to allow students to interact with other students from their disciplines.

The digital HEC library is a great way to improve accessibility and availability for all students. It should be regularly updated and any bugs in the software should be alleviated to ensure all students can benefit from the service.
