Cyber safety

Cyber safety

KARACHI:

The growing significance of the digital world has raised the risks of cybercrimes. People engaging in the digital world are at a constant risk of being victimised by scammers, hackers, and bullies. People cannot be expected to not use the internet as it is a major source of information and communication in today’s world.

Within the last few years, education, work, and many other activities have moved online. This has increased the use of web forms, which are not secure, and the data of the respondents can be easily used for malpractices. Reports of people’s bank account security being compromised have become extremely common with many people losing all their money.

With improved technology and software, hackers have become more precise and professional in their practices. Therefore, people should be wary of who and where they are giving their information. Users should protect their sensitive or private information through privacy settings and encryption. People should be vigilant of their online activity and avoid engaging with content that seems suspicious. In addition, the relevant authorities including the Federal Investigation Agency should ensure that robust cyber laws are enacted and implemented to ensure that offenders are punished, and the victims receive justice.
