Absence of schools

Absence of schools

KARACHI:

Balnigwar is a sub-tehsil of Kech, which consists of more than twenty villages. The people in the tehsil are deprived of many facilities including quality education. There is just one high school in the area, which lacks basic resources and teaching faculty.

Some students travel to Turbat to seek education, but this is not a feasible option because of the high travel costs and other expenses. Parents have little choice but to send their children to work so that they can contribute to household income.

The poor educational prospects in Balochistan have disillusioned many students and forced them into drug abuse, and other social evils. The provincial government should reform education in the province and establish schools to allow students to seek education and improve their prospects.
