KARACHI:
Hoshab is a vastly populated town located in the west of Turbat city. In the last few years, students from Hoshab have emerged successful in different fields including medicine, engineering, academia, etc. Many students from Hoshab are pursuing their higher education in different universities across the country. Some often return to the town after completing their education to serve the people there.
Despite the success of the students, there are few schools and colleges in the town and most lack basic facilities. The absence of a public library has further added to the student’s problems as they do not have access to all the books and resources required to excel in their studies. Public libraries also provide students with a free space to carry out their educational activities and prepare for exams.
The federal and provincial governments should recognise the achievements of students of Hoshab and those belonging to other areas in Balochistan. The students of Balochistan should not be treated as pariahs and should be facilitated through good schools, colleges, and universities. They must be given access to all the resources including public libraries to be able to complete their studies and pursue their careers.
