KARACHI:
Many young graduates can be found struggling in their careers because they receive little guidance or training prior to starting their jobs. Training and workshops are integral for university students as they provide them with hands-on experience and skills that can be applied to real-life situations. They also help students expand their knowledge and develop new perspectives on various issues.
Workshops are particularly important as students work on projects, participate in group discussions, and receive feedback from experienced instructors. Interacting with professionals and industry leaders allows students to build their networks and connect with professionals in their fields of study. Maintaining a strong network can help students with employment in the future. These sessions can help students build students’ CVs and diversify their knowledge and experience.
Given the excessive brain drain issue, Higher Education Commission should urge universities to introduce workshops, training sessions, and internships for students. This will help bridge the gap between employers and employees. It will allow students to apply what they have learnt and learn from their mistakes. Organisations and companies will also have the chance to interact with upcoming employees and expand innovation and opportunities. Instead of wasting their time in petty politics at universities, students should be facilitated through workshops and training to enhance their skills and potential so that they can achieve success in their desired careers.
