KARACHI:
Bus services operating between Islamabad and Chitral are constantly raising fares. The high fares have become a major source of concern for people who regularly travel between these two cities. It is further adding to people’s financial woes and making it difficult for people to plan their trips.
I request the government take immediate action and investigate the matter. The government must ensure that the transporters are not overcharging passengers and that they are charging fares that are in accordance with the laws and regulations in place. The government should also take steps to regulate the transportation industry in such a way that it becomes more transparent and accountable.
Perhaps, the government should create a system to monitor transport companies as well as provide passengers with a service to lodge complaints about the bus companies and their services. The people are already facing many challenges and should be relieved of this added burden urgently. The public should be informed about their rights and the regulations that govern the transportation industry as it will allow passengers to make informed decisions when they travel.
