KARACHI:
The issue of beggary has been troubling our society for decades now. Beggars can be seen on street corners, outside of stores, and even at busy intersections asking for money and food. While it is important to have compassion for those who are struggling and in need, it is also important to recognise that beggary is a complex issue with multiple underlying causes, such as poverty, mental illnesses, and addiction. Simply giving money to beggars is not a sustainable solution and may even perpetuate the problem.
Instead, we should focus on addressing the root causes of beggary by investing in social welfare programs, mental health services, and affordable housing. We should also support organisations that provide job training and employment opportunities for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
As a society, we have a responsibility to help those in need, but we must do this in an effective and sustainable way. Beggary is not just a problem for the individuals involved, but for the entire community. It is time for us to take action and come up with solutions to address this issue.
