Consumerism has compelled people to constantly discard old items and replace them with new ones. But, considering the growing social and environmental consequences of waste, we must resort to recycling. Recycling reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill and allows us to utilise old products to convert them into something new.
Plastics, glass, metal, electronics, cardboard boxes, and cans are among the many items that can be recycled. The variety of recycling procedures has made it possible to use different materials more than once. Recycling reduces the need for fresh raw materials to create new products, it benefits both people and the environment. It reduces the amount of energy we consume and enhances air and water quality. It reduces carbon footprint and emissions minimizing methane-release waste from landfill sites, which contributes to climate change.
In addition, recycling waste is cheaper compared to regular waste collection and disposal. Therefore, we must resort to recycling the items we toss away each day as it can significantly help in protecting the environment for ourselves and future generations.
