Bus service

Bus service

KARACHI:

The Sindh government has finally launched the Peoples Bus Service (PBS) in Hyderabad to facilitate the public. This is one of the best initiatives of the Sindh government as the people of Hyderabad have long been deprived of public transport services. The maximum charge for one seat is set to Rs50 while the minimum is set to be Rs20.

Passengers must avoid littering or vandalising the buses and the authorities should ensure regular maintenance of the buses. Conductors and bus drivers should conduct themselves in a professional manner, particularly drivers who should be trained to prevent them from speeding and violating traffic rules. Bus drivers should also avoid stopping arbitrarily and should board and alight commuters at the designated stops.

The provincial government should eventually increase the number of buses within Hyderabad and also launch them in other parts of Sindh to ease people’s commute. The Sindh government has taken a timely step to tackle different issues at once. A good public transport system can help reduce traffic on roads as well as vehicular emissions.
