Commendable service

Commendable service

KARACHI:

In today’s era, the transmission of unauthentic information has become extremely rampant. But this should not let us forget the ground realities, our national achievements, and the efforts of separate individuals. The outgoing Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, has rendered numerous services to the nation including combing operation Raddul Fasaad, which played a crucial role in rooting out terrorism.

In my view, the border fencing was his greatest service to the nation as it will certainly help in curbing the emanating threats from the Western border. It will also help in controlling the smuggling of narcotics and other valuable items through the porous border. Although some adverse elements tried their best to hinder the progress on the border fence, they did not succeed and the armed forces under the leadership of General Bajwa completed it rendering many sacrifices.

The border fence can pave the way for a controlled mechanism of border crossing, legalise the trade between Pakistan and Afghanistan and curb illegal activities that would ensure long-term security and stability in the region. It has the potential to eventually end the menace of terrorism and facilitate development and progress within a few years. Therefore, General Bajwa deserves salutation and recognition for this service to the nation.
