Congrats England!

Congrats England!

KARACHI:

Pakistan lost to England in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday. I congratulate the winners for their well-deserved win. I also congratulate Team Pakistan for making it to the final against all odds. However, we must learn from our mistakes and come back stronger. While we managed to reach the final, it was largely because of one of the biggest upsets in the history of cricket when the minnows Netherlands beat mighty South Africa. We must realise that our batting has consistently struggled over the last year failing more times than we can count. We failed to make a significant total against any team except the Netherlands. It has always been our great bowling attack that helped us snatch a win from the jaws of defeat. I am not sure if it is the wrong batting order or poor selection, but something has to be done to have a batting lineup that is capable of scoring 200 runs against good teams. Another area that needs more focus and fine-tuning is fielding. Be it the ground fielding or grabbing catches, our performance in this area is not on a par with top teams in the world. Overall, good bowling along with luck and prayers will not always win matches. We must improve our batting and fielding to become true champions.
