KARACHI:
A large number of people in Pakistan are suffering from psychological disorders. As against this, it has less than 500 psychologists to cater to this population. According to WHO data, Pakistan has only 0.19 psychiatrists per 1000,000 people. It goes without saying that psychological issues are taking a toll on our society. And almost daily we come across incidents of people either harming themselves or others due to psychological reasons. It is about time for the government to focus on bolstering treatment facilities for such patients, besides taking steps for general financial wellbeing of the people.
