KARACHI:
I would like to draw the attention of the readers towards nepotism in politics that not only encroaches on the rights and opportunities of exceptionally gifted individuals who have the potential to transform the country into a developed and prosperous one, but also hinders the country’s ability to develop and contend with other developed nations. The continued dynastic rule in our so-called democratic country has put brakes to real progress, causing grave financial problems to the people.
But it is the people themselves who are responsible for their state of affairs. They need to understand the power of vote which can be used to their own advantage, and not based on affiliations concerning cast and creed. I urge the people of Pakistan to reject the dynastic politics and elect such people who have the will to promote genuine talent so that Pakistan can flourish.
