Climate destruction

KARACHI:

It is unfortunate that Pakistan has suffered severe and intense floods caused by climate change. Added to this, families and communities have been severely affected. The news of Pakistan being ravaged by flash floods has gotten attention all around the world. Pakistan needs international help, especially in the form of food and money. Asian countries and the West should reach out to the affected in Pakistan to provide adequate provisions and help the suffering and hapless souls. Just like other Asian nations, Pakistan is a beautiful country located in the midst of rivers, seas and mountains. Even then, Pakistan has been reeling from unprecedented flood threats since a long time. Given the kind of damage caused to Pakistan, it is clear that climate change has been wreaking havoc in the entire subcontinent. Even in India, the monsoon season brought unprecedented amounts of rainfall that caused wide-scale floods and destruction.

Amid such a situation, the international community and the world media must come forward to initiate public awareness to show the world the true reality of the crisis we are facing. This will pave the way for concerted action so that countries pool in their resources and work for change so that the world is better able to manage the threat.
