KARACHI:
Recently, the government announced plans to increase the cost per unit to Rs7.98. The rampant inflation has already crippled people financially and caused severe depression. Now the increase in electricity prices will aggravate people’s problems. Frequent and prolonged power outages are already causing inconveniences. Being the federal capital, Islamabad should have a refined strategy to supply electricity efficiently to its residents. Unfortunately, entire areas are faced with hours-long loadshedding. Despite frequent complaints, there has been little improvement, if at all. Therefore, I urge IESCO to pay attention to rectify the deplorable situation.
