Educational support

KARACHI:

Libraries are crucial for enforcing a culture of reading and education. Many students prefer studying or preparing for exams at libraries in a studious environment instead of at their homes. Unfortunately, in Sakran, there are no libraries and students do not have any other extracurricular activities either. Resultantly, most students end up spending their free time on their phones. During the exam season, students are compelled to study at their homes and face difficulties because of prolonged and frequent load shedding, etc.

At times, course books that could have been provided by the libraries are inaccessible to students. Thus, students either have to share books or travel to other cities to purchase or borrow books, which is inconvenient
and expensive.

Despite having raised the issue with municipal and provincial authorities, little action has been taken to build libraries in Sakran. Consequently, students continue to suffer from poor academic results and a lack of educational support, which is preventing them from utilising their ability and talent. The students of Sakran must not lag in education and should be allowed to achieve their full potential. Therefore, I urge the relevant authorities to build a library in the city and provide students with adequate support.
