Martyred soldiers

Martyred soldiers`

KARACHI:

Great nations never forget the sacrifices of their soldiers, and their services to the country remain ever alive in people’s hearts. The unfortunate helicopter crash in which six Pakistan Army officers embraced martyrdom during flood relief operation in Balochistan has left the whole nation in extreme grief. The helicopter took off from Uthal in Balochistan at 5:10pm on Monday and was supposed to land in Karachi at 6:05pm, but unfortunately it lost contact with the air traffic controller due to bad weather and poor visibility. The wreckage of the helicopter was later found in Lasbela district of Balochistan.

Those valiant and selfless soldiers who gave their lives in the line of duty included Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali, Brigadier Amjad Hanif, Brigadier Muhammad Khalid, Major Saeed Ahmed, Major Mohammad Talha Mannan and Naik Mudassir Fayyaz. While we mourn the tragedy, we must be proud of these brave Jawans who did not care for their lives in the stormy weather and dedicated their services for the flood victims. To quote Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, “the nation is deeply subdued for the martyrdom of Lieutenant Sarfraz Ali and other Jawans . Indeed, the martyrdom will forever be a symbol of pride as they went to save and protect millions, and unfortunately ended up losing their lives.”
