KARACHI:
Women are an integral part of society. They are a symbol of peace, prosperity and economic growth. Men cannot achieve any important breakthroughs in any realm without adequate women participation. Women have proved themselves in all arenas, and development is also one of them. Unfortunately in a developing country like Pakistan, lack of women empowerment has precluded development in many areas including health, education, industry, modern technology, etc. On the other hand, developed countries have successfully tapped the strengths and creativity of women, doing wonders in real development.
Our society has not yet realised the true value of liberated women. The lack of women authorisation over the years has led our country to social, economic and political malaise. Many of the Pakistani women have failed to realise their potential due to illogical social and cultural stereotypes. Therefore, the need of the hour is to realise that essential role of women in building economies and brightening futures. Empowering women is indispensable if we want to thrive as a nation. Real development is extremely difficult, in fact impossible, without significant women empowerment.
