Conspiracy or no conspiracy?

Letter May 01, 2022
Conspiracy or no conspiracy?

LAHORE:

The National Security Committee has now deliberated twice on the claims made by the PTI that the no-trust motion was part of a “foreign-funded conspiracy”. The conclusion reached by the committee, as per media reports, is that there seems to be no evidence of any conspiracy at all and that no real threat exists.

The fact of the matter is that if there was any real threat to Pakistan, the security agencies would not be so calm in dealing with the situation. Moreover, it is absurd to think that a superpower such as the US would explicitly reveal their plans through any form of communication, let alone a letter that clearly lays out their intentions. These powerful countries plan ahead of time, create the necessary conditions and act either covertly or with brute force to forward their own selfish desires. In the process, countries are destroyed and millions of lives are lost. The threatening tone of the communication expressed and the near perfect timing of its revelation by former Prime Minister Imran Khan indicates that perhaps it was more of a political maneuver than an actual conspiracy. After all, in a democracy, such kinds of threats should be made public knowledge. But it seems that Imran Khan had held onto this crucial piece of information only to reveal it when the time was right.

Unfortunately, apart from the controversial letter alone, Imran Khan has not been able to present any solid evidence. But he must be commended for turning his loss into a victory as masses gathered onto the streets of various cities to protest against his ousting. In the end, whoever is in power must respect to constitution and care for the people of Pakistan.
