Private schools

Private schools

KARACHI:

Education is necessary for the overall growth and development of any country as it inculcates knowledge and discipline and produces a productive workforce. A high literacy rate is viewed as the main tool to address problems in society. Unfortunately, the education system in Pakistan is thoroughly sluggish and suffering from several deficiencies.

The two predominant educational forms include the government and private systems. Privatisation of schools in interior Sindh has led to a further deterioration of the standard of education. For instance, in the district of Kashmore, private schools are under the clutches of private mafias that are destroying the academic careers of students at different levels of learning. Despite the absence of proper school campuses and teaching facilities, the students are charged extortionate amounts of fees. Similarly, the private schools in Kandhkot have adopted a careless approach and are not interested in producing competent students that can pursue higher education. Resultantly, students are forced to navigate their academic careers on their own.

The dismal and futile way of inculcating and articulating education has plunged students into an academic crisis. They have lost interest and enthusiasm in studying and serving the country. The relevant authorities need to pay attention to this pressing issue and alleviate private mafias that are exploiting students and ruining their prospects. To ensure that students are offered quality education with a standard fee, institutions should be regulated and monitored by the authorities.
