Well done, boys!

Letter November 13, 2021
Well done, boys!

KARACHI:

This time Pakistan’s T20 squad has performed exceptionally as Pakistan became the only team that won all five matches in the tournament making a smooth passage to the semi-finals stage. Captain Babar Azam has now become the number one batsman in T20 while Mohammad Rizwan also gave a strong performance as an opening batsman. Green Shirts displayed immense potential and proved worthy of all the praise. The squad included several new players who initially drew criticism for rough performance, however, they proved themselves by working through different tests on the field and sharing man-of-the-match awards.

Unfortunately, Hassan Ali became the centre of criticism after Pakistan’s defeat in the semi-finals. His dropped catch was widely discussed on social media and the player was subjected to severe trolling and abuse. We must not forget that Hassan Ali has won many matches for us in the past. Therefore, during a time like this, we must uplift his spirits and extend our sympathies to him.

Pakistani cricket team has always been unpredictable, which is what makes it thrilling to watch. The entire team has proved themselves competent and restored our faith in the team. Instead of criticising them, we must continue to support them unconditionally for the upcoming cricket season.
