Path to change

Path to change

KARACHI:

Both past and present governments have continuously pursued policies that do not serve the Pakistani people effectively. Consequently, the public is now burdened with high inflation and unemployment rates amongst many other issues, yet the people do not stand up against the government. In fact, people do not even use their right to vote to elect officials that may serve their interests better. As a result of this, the same corrupt officials are re-elected each year bringing little to no change.

To bring change in the country, we must change our own actions first. Instead of voting for officials with a history of corruption, tax evasion and other illegal and criminal activities, we must use our right to vote responsibly and elect officials that are willing to bring change. When an elected official is accused of corruption or other wrongdoings, the people should call for the expulsion of such officials. To avoid political and economic turmoil in the future, we must collectively call for political, economic, and social reforms and hold the government accountable. Otherwise, we might be drifting towards complete destruction.
