KARACHI:
Rapid transformations in technology and digital media, and easy access to mobile phones and laptops have drawn a large number of people towards social media applications and games. This has had a negative impact on our concentration and motivation levels.
People spend hours and hours on their phones. This is most common among young people who are spending most of their time scrolling through their social media feeds instead of educating themselves through books. Consequently, they are both physically and mentally exhausted because of which they are not motivated enough to study or participate in extracurricular activities. The youth is no longer interested in pursuing goals and passions that do not involve the use of technology.
They must realise that using mobile phones will only provide them with instant gratification. They will eventually lack the skills and knowledge required to function in society. It is imperative that we encourage the youth to engage in different physical activities so that they may focus on the things that really matter.
