KARACHI:
Education is essential because it equips people with the skills and knowledge they need to be able to function in society. Unfortunately, the youth of Balochistan are deprived of the basic right to education. In most parts of the province, there are no educational facilities. While some students can travel to other cities and provinces for education, this option is not feasible for most students. It is difficult for girls to travel out of town to receive higher education. In addition, not everyone can afford it. The lack of educational facilities and opportunities has plunged many students into bad habits.
Most schools in Balochistan are faced with basic issues that can be easily alleviated. A common problem is the lack of classrooms and teachers. In the more developed areas of Gwadar, Punjgur, and Turbat there is an absence of public libraries to support students. The education sector is in a shambolic state in Balochistan. It is imperative that the relevant authorities take up this matter and address the longstanding issues at their earliest.
