Pakistan citizen’s portal

Letter September 16, 2021
I believe it is a great initiative that can benefit citizens. It shouldn’t go in vain due to the negligence of a few

KARACHI:

The Pakistan Citizen Portal (PCP) was launched on October 28, 2018 by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He termed his government’s innovative programme a medium for change by enabling citizens to have a look at the affairs of the government through registration of their complaints. We now have a transparent forum where we can get our concerns registered and resolved.

My personal experience with PCP however was not satisfactory. I registered individual complaints about two issues including gas shortages in my area and an examination issue at a university. I considered the forum as the only source of help since officials are not willing to meet the common man for their petty issues. Upon rechecking my account, I found that there was a problem of low pressure and that the issue of gas shortage had been resolved. However, I was not contacted during this time, neither did any official visit my house. There was no means for me to provide feedback on the service. In addition, my second problem is yet to be addressed.

I humbly request the Prime Minister to improve transparency and service. I believe it is a great initiative that can benefit citizens. It shouldn’t go in vain due to the negligence of a few.
