Poor infrastructure

Letter September 09, 2021
The village lacks basic infrastructure such as proper roads that connect the village with other areas

KARACHI:

The world has become increasingly connected through various communication channels. Today, we often define the world as a global village due to increased connectivity and communication between countries through air, land, or sea. The metropolises of Pakistan are also part of this global village. However, many other remote areas of the country are excluded from this global village — one of these is our village Cheehani at Agra in Tehsil Gambat of District Khairpur Mirs, Sindh.

The village lacks basic infrastructure such as proper roads that connect the village with other areas. The shoddy roads have cut off the residents from the rest of the country, and people cannot travel to schools and hospitals in other cities. The roads become particularly dangerous during the monsoon season posing significant difficulties for those who need to travel to other places for work. Time and again, residents of Cheehani have raised their concerns with authoritative figures. However, their calls have fallen on deaf ears and the infrastructure in Cheehani remains in a poor state. I request the relevant authorities to consider this matter at their earliest and work on the provision of new and improved infrastructure for the residents of Cheehani. People should no longer suffer because of the negligence of a few.
