KARACHI:
The administration of Peshawar has decided to impose a smart lockdown in five areas of the city following a rise in Covid cases. According to a news report, the restriction will be imposed from 9pm on Tuesday. The areas that will face restrictions include Faisal Colony, Dalazak Road, Gulabad Chowk Road, Ghareebabad Road, parts of Hayatabad, Faqirbad bound, Dalazak Road, Zaryab Colony, Allied Bank Road, Dalazak Road, ljazabad, Zulfiqar Street and Shehzad Street.
This is a commendable initiative taken by the authorities as it ensures the safety and protection of the lives of citizens against the virus. The administrators of the areas where the situation of Covid-19 is alarming must follow stringent measures to curb the spread of the virus. Those who have not been vaccinated against the virus must be encouraged to get vaccinated at their earliest. It has been reported that vaccines have reduced the intensity of symptoms of the virus. Many people have blamed authorities for mishandling the pandemic. However, it is upon everyone to be responsible during this time. The public must strictly follow SOPs to stay safe against the virus because the pandemic is still not over. Those violating SOPs should receive strict punishment for their negligent behaviour.
