KARACHI:
Set up in in 1935, the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) was responsible for recruiting civil servants and bureaucrats at the provincial level. However, due to accusations of recruiting undeserving and incapable individuals illegally, it has now been banned. In the aftermath of the ban, confusion and hopelessness have ensued among aspirants who desire to work for SPSC. Many of those who worked towards pursuing their goal are now in a state of panic. The aspirants demand that the relevant authorities and the respectable Sindh High Court ensure the reopening of SPSC with transparency and meritocracy at the earliest so that those eligible can apply. The ban should make way for an overhaul of the entire organisation. The hard work and efforts of passionate individuals should not go in vain; they should be appointed for relevant positions legally.
