Interaction with Chinese journalists

A detailed look at the interactions between the two countries proves that cultural exchange has stagnated along the years, with little bilateral exchange in the media sector

KARACHI:

In a recent meeting with Chinese media representatives, Prime Minister Imran Khan pointed out the apparent dearth in cultural relations between China and Pakistan. A detailed look at the interactions between the two countries proves that cultural exchange has stagnated along the years, with little bilateral exchange in the media sector. This is particularly jarring considering the fact that China is our closest ally.

Indeed, economic and political relations between the two remains unrivaled, yet this close partnership is not reflected through media exchange. The massive Chinese media audience remains largely untapped and the Pakistani media can use this opportunity to spread its wings abroad. This would not only provide our content makers with unparalleled exposure but it would also help spread the true image of our country on a larger international front. The Chinese audience is considered as one of the biggest media markets in the world. Therefore, Pakistan should take advantage of its political friendship and provide opportunities to its filmmakers and producers.
