Importance of judiciary

KARACHI:

Judiciary is a branch of the government and the system of courts that adjudicates legal disputes among the citizens in line with the law and the Constitution. A well-functioning judiciary is responsible for ensuring democracy, governance, security, economic growth and equity. In addition, imparting justice to civilians and controlling crime in a society also come under the many responsibilities that the judiciary holds. In Pakistan, judiciary plays a vital role in influencing the overall socio-economic condition. It ensures the rule of law and protection of property rights so that citizens can invest in business and developmental projects.

For a country to prosper, its judiciary should be strong and independent. No one should be considered above the law. Constitutional law is for citizens, and citizens have the responsibility to respect the decisions of judiciary.
