KARACHI:
The government is currently in last stage of processing proposals for the upcoming budget. it is expected that there will be a substantial increase in the salaries of government employees and pensioners.
It is hoped that relevant officials would not forget the EOBI pensioners who are facing difficulties in managing their monthly expenses. It is so unfortunate that those retired from prestigious posts get a meagre pension which isn’t enough to cover essential expenses. Such retired employees are not able to work or take to the roads to protest for seeking a reasonable increase in EOBI pensions. However, it is worth mentioning that the present government being fully conscious of the financial needs of senior citizens have shown their commitment on various occasions to providing relief to EOBI pensioners.
Thus, the relevant authorities are requested to increase the EOBI pension to a minimum Rs15,000 per month to enable EOBI pensioners to overcome their financial hardships and lead a respectable life without needing to seek support of others.
