The global issue of environmental degradation and worsening climatic change is a matter of grave concern for stakeholders across the globe. Many attempts have been made and strategies devised in this regard, but none of them have been truly successful. The depletion of the ozone layer presents us with concrete evidence that our planet is moving towards ecological destruction. As cited by scientists, environmental pollution and deforestation are two of the major contributing factors that have intensified the unfolding crisis. Developed as well as developing countries are forced to strive hard to tackle the burning issue.
But no matter how hard we seem to try, the situation is hard to cope with. It requires a pragmatic and decisive approach which must be formulated on an urgent basis. The authorities concerned must play their prudent and proactive role to curb the menace of climate change and global warming in Pakistan, considering it is one of the most vulnerable countries.
