KARACHI:
The International Monetary Fund has approved half a billion in disbursement for Pakistan. It was said that the programme aims to support Pakistan’s policies to help the economy, save lives and livelihoods amid the still unfolding Covid-19 pandemic, ensure macroeconomic and debt sustainability, and advance structural reforms to the lay the foundations of long-lasting growth.
But are these funds actually going to benefit the masses, or would they fall into the hands of corrupt officials? The government will never be able to satisfy the needs of the people unless they insure transparency. If these funds go into the wrong hands, like they usually do, the nation will be indebted and our generations will be further burdened.
