It is because of this that the people of Pakistan face a lot of difficulties while travelling or loitering around their localities

KARACHI:

Street crime is a loose term for any criminal offence committed in a public place. Examples of street crime include pickpocketing, carjacking, armed robberies, the open illegal drug trade, vandalism of public property and assault. In a developing country like Pakistan, street crimes are quite common. This is because majority of such instances are initiated by criminals who seek quick financial gains. Furthermore, the issue of street crime has been aggravated by the expansion and creation of gangs or mafias that propagate and reinforce these types of toxic street culture. Poverty, unemployment, and parental neglect may also lead to an individual indulging in such acts.

It is because of this that the people of Pakistan face a lot of difficulties while travelling or loitering around their localities. Therefore, there is a serious need to initiate strict measures to reduce instances of street crime by installing public surveillance cameras. There also should be high police alert in vulnerable areas during night time.
