KARACHI:
Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital is the only civil hospital in Hub. Even though it is considered among the biggest hospitals in Balochistan, it remains in a miserable state. Due to the lack of specialised medical systems and facilities, and serious administrative issues, the hospital is currently in shambles. The last time I paid a visit there, the hospital was empty, bereft of patients and doctors. All the doors were locked, making it quite apparent that the hospital was not in an operational condition.
The people of Hub have greatly suffered from this. In cases of emergency, patients have to be transported to hospitals in other areas. Many a times patients have to travel all the way to Karachi to seek medical aid, which is expensive and cumbersome. In light of the situation, I urge the concerned authorities as well as the Government of Balochistan to look into the matter and provide adequate facilities for the people so they can lead a healthier life.
