KARACHI:
Despite being one of the most developed districts of Balochistan, Kech is deprived of a proper railway service. While the population of the district is increasing by the day, the transportation system in the district remains in a shambles. Due to rampant corruption and lack of resources, road infrastructure and public transport have not been maintained properly, making it extremely difficult and cumbersome for people to commute daily. Their access to the very place they live in has been limited.
In such a situation, a railway service is the best option because it is a cheaper and more affordable alternative for people. The authorities concerned must take notice of the situation and either work towards improving the current transport system or invest in a suitable alternative. Apart from this, the federal government needs to focus on developing the transport infrastructure of the various districts in Balochistan. They need to realise that a chain is just as strong as its weakest link.
