KARACHI:
Tump is a small Tehsil located in the Kech district of Balochistan. Even though it is considered as the economic hub of the region, where people do business via the Pakistan-Iran border, the major Zubeda Jalal road which links Tump to all the different Tehsils and runs all the way to Iran is in a shambles. Due to lack of maintenance and development, the road has developed several cracks and potholes making it difficult to travel. Many a time, the dilapidated condition of the road causes drivers to lose control of their vehicle, causing lethal accidents.
On top of this, the Nihang bridge that is a part of the road was flooded away some 13 years ago. Unfortunately, officials have not bothered to rebuild it, and as a result it causes tremendous inconvenience to commuters. It normally takes about 2 hours to travel 115 kilometres on the road, but due to the negligence of officials and condition of the road, it now takes more than 3. I thereby urge the government of Balochistan to take necessary action to pave and fix the road while construct the Nihang bridge at the earliest.
